LaLiga’s Delegate Committee have published a statement rejecting Real Madrid’s complaint against referee Martinez Munuera. In that statement, LaLiga says that Real Madrid have been “undertaking a relentless campaign against Spanish referees, with the presumable intention of pressuring said body, in order to obtain a competitive advantage with the decisions that said group has to make.”

Here’s the full statement:
LALIGA, in its firm commitment to eradicate all forms of violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in football, in addition to carrying out numerous awareness and prevention campaigns, reports to the Disciplinary Committee of the RFEF and to the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport of the CSD, all those actions that occur in the matches of the First and Second Division National League Championships, which may constitute the aforementioned infractions.

In this sense, the LaLiga Delegate Committee considers that this complaint is one more manifestation of the relentless campaign undertaken by Real Madrid CF against Spanish referees, with the presumable intention of pressuring said body, in order to obtain a competitive advantage with the decisions that said group has to make.

As indicated and accredited by the Technical Committee of Referees, the way Mr. Martínez Munuera has proceeded has been impeccable and has scrupulously complied with the regulations that govern refereeing. Any other interpretation that can be made of the facts is simply spurious.

Likewise, the LaLiga Delegate Committee considers that any conduct that erodes the integrity of the competition should be avoided, the decorum and good sporting order should be preserved, and it expresses its concern and rejection of this type of action carried out repeatedly by Real Madrid CF that go against said values.

Real Madrid filed a complaint against referee Martinez Munuera after he failed to report the insults directed against Vinicius Junior during the team’s match in Pamplona against Osasuna.
